Scuba Diving Courses

Ocean Diver

 Ocean Diver is the clubs entry lever course.. 

Prerequisites:

• Age 12yrs +
• Self declaration medical form or seek advice from a medical referee.
• Try Dive (scuba)
• Basic Swimming assesment 150mtrs

Course Content:

7  Theory lessons (At club house thursday evenings)

1. OT1 introduction to our branch, ocean diver training.
2. OT2 diving equipment and signals
3. OT3 the body and effects of diving
4. OT4 planning to go diving
5. OT5 going diving
6. OT6 what happens if....?
7. OT7 enjoying your diving

5 Sheltered water lessons (Swimming pool - monday evenings)

1. OS1 being underwater (basic skills) fit face mask, fit and clear snorkel, develop finning action.
2. OS2 basic skills assemble and check SCUBA unit, buoyancy control, mask clearing, demand valve clearing, use AS.
3. OS3 developing skills more mask and demand valve clearing, AS ascent as donor and recipient.
4. OS4 beyond the basics further develop personal diving skills including bouyancy, mask clearing,etc.
5. OS5 safety skills consolidate AS ascent as donor and recipient, recover a unconscious buddy to the surface using a controlled buoyant lift (CBL), surcure at the surface,signal for help and tow the casualty.

5 openwater dives (mid week & weekends)

1. OO1 have an enjoyable dive, correct weight for conditions, protective clothing to be worn, buoyancy control skills.
2. OO2 (If dry suit used) recover from an inversion, disconnect their drysuit inflator hose and replace, mask clearing.
3. OO3 basic diving and emergency procedures.
4. OO4 recover an incapacitated diver to the surface, summon assistance and tow an incapacitated diver.
5. OO5 plan and lead a dive within the limitations of previous experience.
6. 

Post qualification depth build up to 20mtrs.
